This entry’s title could explain the lack of posts lately. I’ve been super-extra busy. That’s really not an excuse, but I’m using it anyway. Midterms are next week! I’m on overdrive mode at school (not so much at work) ~ working on group projects, individual assignments & term paper and trying to squeeze in some sleep whenever possible. The apartment is a mess. Inside and out. I don’t cook as much so we eat out a lot, and usually eating non-healthy meals.

I’ll be back to a normal schedule of minimal work and maximal play in a couple weeks. I hope!

…big time!! So WB and UPN combined powers and created this new station ~ The CW Television Network; however I just learned that it did not get pick up by any of our local Honolulu stations. And I even had to do some of my own research about it as I’d prepared to tape my show on Tuesday since I don’t home until after the show was done. R said he re-check it and yeah…Gilmore Girls was not shown. I was puzzled!

In the past, we’ve watched all of our WB shows on K-5, however now I’ve come to realized they’ve gone and signed with MyNetworkTV which is under FOX. WTF??!! The new Fall season started this past week and we were anticipating the return of Gilmore Girls and Smallville. So yeah, it totally sucks as Smallville is suppose to be on tonight! Now all we can do is sit back and wait for CW to be picked up by a local station or just simply download it using the good ol’ trusted torrents. Life was so much simpler with the WB!!!

Dim Sum for brunch is a nice way to start a lazy Sunday. I’ve been craving for it for some while now and satisfying that craving was definately a must. So another dine-out excursion to Panda Cuisine on Keeaumoku was planned and the must-eat dishes were ordered ~ Shu Mai, Har Gao, Shrimp Cheong Fun (my favorite!!), steamed Spare Ribs, Lotus Leaf Rice (Lo Mai Kai), Shrimp dumlings with sharkfin, Char Siew Pao, Cripsy Fried Shrimp and Mango Pudding. YUMMY! It hit all the right spots in my big tummy! *grins* I must admit even the service was better this time around and the carts continued to be wheeled by to our table even after we were all done. After that hearty meal, we adjourned to Coffee or Tea at McCully for some momi (bubble)-tea ~ sweet tasting flavors of taro, honey dew melon and watermelon.

Ritsuko and I continued on to spend the rest of the day sunning ourselves at the beach by the secluded lagoon on Magic Island. It was a such a nice, hot day…a perfect day for the beach (excuse the obscene bulges)!! Now that I am at home, I should be studying but I still feel lazy and a little tired so instead I’m going to lounge on the couch and channel surf! How was your weekend, peeps?

“Holy crap, was that just an earthquake?”

Sitting in the living room and having KFC for dinner, Ryan and I felt the ground and building shake…Uh. oh.

It was my first ever experience of an earth tremor.

It was tiny by the way, just enough to know what it was a mild earthquake!

Yeah…so I complaint earlier about being bored…and my R comes to my rescue. We meet up with his dad and grandpa in Waimalu to have dinner at Stuart Anderson’s Cattle Company. We get there a little before our 5pm reservations and get seated after a short 5 minute wait. R and I pick the 3-course dinner special for 2; 1 appertizer, 2 steak entrees and 1 dessert. So we order the sampler platter as our appertizer ~ it comes with shrimp cocktail, fresh fried zucchini, potato skins, and buffalo-style chicken strips. For our entrees, we each order the 6oz. Filet Mignon (and because I was so hungry…I forgot to take my picture before cutting into the meat…as seen in the photo below) with homemade garlic mashed potatoes and rice as sides. Come dessert time, as usual…we’re both full and cannot consume anytime extra. So we ordered our dessert ~ BIG MOUNTAIN CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE ~ to go. All I can say is YUM!

We’d planned to join some friends for drinks at Mai Tais later in the evening but by time we got home…the tired and lazy feeling crept upon us. So instead, we had our own fiesta ~ a variety of imported beers in the comforts of our apartment (no need to worry about drinking and driving). R had gotten the beers as a gift recently so we figured we give them a try! (hic) … bottoms up!

Here I am at the office on Saturday, sitting on my fat Asian @ss at my desk, twiddling my thumbs because I have nothing important to do. I should focus on finishing up the work that I started a while ago, but I’m B-O-R-E-D! I shall continue anxiously ~ twiddling my thumbs, tapping my feet, glancing out the window and checking my watch…counting the minutes until the work day is over! What are you doing right now?

Ritsuko and I made plans to meet up for dinner after work. I’d suggested we try Palomino Restaurant as I’d received an email about them having (until August 27th) a 3-course meal special (1 starter, 1 entree & 1 dessert) for $25. What a deal, right?!? It’s an upscale part restaurant, part rotisseria and part bar with chic ambiance and this place is all about glass, marble, mahogany, art pieces, wall decor and very impressive lighting. It’s upper class and elegant, but somehow relaxed.

We get there a little after 6pm, and it’s crowded! It was Ritsuko first time there. As for me…it was second time. My first was 2 years ago with Ryan for our 2 year anniversary. After a 5-minute wait, we were seated at a table with a nice view overlooking the harbor. Ritsuko orders the Dungeness Crab & Artichoke Dip, Rotisserie Pork Chop and Tiramisu with a glass of Chardonnay wine while I get the Calamari Fritto, Lobster Ravioli and Seasonal Fruit Cobbler with a glass of Riesling wine. While waiting for our orders to arrive, we were served their signature warm, chewy french bread with a hearty marinara sauce (chunks of fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese).

As usual, we were busy taking our pictures as the food arrive as well as environment and pretty views. There was a lot of food for us two gals to consume and it was all simply D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! Our starters; the Dungeness Crab & Artichoke Dip was served with parmesan cheese and cracked pizza crust while the Calamari Fritto came with marinara and garlic-lemon dipping sauces. YUMMY! We were getting full and our entrees haven’t even arrived yet! My Lobster Ravioli was humongous ~ 2 fresh pieces of saffron pasta, scallop filling and lobster cream sauce. I had pictured it differently in my head (LOL). Ritsuko’s Rotisserie Pork Chop came with a spicy tasting sausage and brown rice. We still had desserts coming…and I have no more room in my tummy! To add one last smile to the evening, our server delivered Palomino’s version of a fortune cookie at the end of our meal: a fold-out card with a feel-good saying. (Mine read: “A man chases a woman until she catches him.”)

After dinner, we headed into Waikiki for a little stroll to walk off that hearty dinner. Thank you Ritsuko as I had a fantastic time!

ALL DONE! Yay! I am excited to say that I am done for the semester. It’s been a challenging semester, I think two courses combined with full time work and having a life is more than I can handle (plus I feel old). Now it’s time to dive back into projects I have been neglecting due to school ~ shopping, blogging, eating out, beach time, eating out and being insanely drunk! It’s party time, party party time!

Old habits, both good and bad, are hard to break!!

Decided to take a break from studying for my final exams today and treat myself to one day away from the books. I think I earned it and it seems like I had forgotten how it felt to being outdoors, with the trees, the birds and the feeling of being at peace with nature! It felt good. Fresh air. Open sky. The beauty of the horizon.

Blogging is too addictive!

Unfortunately, I have to take a temporary hiatus from posting here for the next two weeks. I really have to get going with my final paper and exam revisions. I hope to be back to my regular blogging self at the end of August, so do check back then. Meanwhile, you’re more than welcome to browse or dig around in the archives. Okay…break time over, back to the books *heavy sigh* ~
